Story of the artwork
This stunning artwork represents the nomadic lifestyle, where our ancestors would travel from place to place. You will find several meeting places with a connective line representing movement from one place to another. The second key theme in this artwork is the Wiradiuri landscape, specifically out of Gilgandra on the castlereagh river.

You will find a long water symbol from the top left out to the mid bottom right. You will also find people symbols represented by the water to show where people camp, fish and live on country. The story in the artwork

Moving across Country

Wiradjuri Walkabout tells of the way our ancestors travelled from place to place. Meeting places are joined by lines that show the movement between them.

It is set on Wiradjuri Country out of Gilgandra on the Castlereagh River. A long water symbol runs through the design, with people gathered beside it, where mob camp, fish and live on Country.
