Comment Moderation Privacy Policy

Ngurrbul Collection ("we", "us") runs a private comment moderation tool called Ngurrbul Comment Guard. It is used only on our own Facebook Page and Instagram account to keep our community safe from racist, abusive, threatening, scam and spam comments. It is not offered to anyone else.

What information it uses

  • Comments (text, emojis, stickers, GIFs and images) posted publicly on our own Facebook Page posts, ads and Instagram posts.
  • The commenter's public name or username, their Meta account ID for our Page, and their public profile picture where Meta provides it.
  • The name of the post or ad the comment was left on, and the date and time.

How it uses that information

  • To decide whether a comment breaks our community rules, using an automated AI check.
  • To remove comments that break our rules, and to block people from our Page who post hateful, threatening or abusive comments.
  • To protect our customers: names may be compared against our own customer list so that customers are never blocked automatically.
  • To keep a private record of removed comments for our own review, and as evidence if a comment contains a threat.

Who it is shared with

We do not sell, rent or share this information for marketing. Comment text and images are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) only to check them against our rules, and the tool is hosted on our private server (Railway). Threats of violence may be shared with police.

How long we keep it

Records of removed comments are kept for a maximum of 12 months and then deleted automatically. Comments we keep are not stored beyond what is needed to check them.

Your rights and how to delete your data

To ask what we hold about you, ask for a review of a removed comment or block, or ask us to delete your information, email Tara@Ngurrbul.com.au with your Facebook or Instagram name. We will respond and delete your data within 30 days. You can also remove our app's access at any time in your Facebook settings under Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites.
